RIMRA is planning to launch this Saturday, April 16, at Peckham Farm. We will start setting up around 9:00, and we will launch until we are out of rocket motors, which usually happens a little after lunch.

Spectators are always welcome. If you haven’t been to a RIMRA launch yet, be prepared to park your vehicle at the farm and walk with your rockets to the center of the field. Be prepared for a picnic-style experience–the club has a few EZ-ups, chairs and water bottles that we are happy to share, but please be prepared to be outdoors.

The field is soft and today wasn’t the best day for drying. We are now targeting a launch on Sunday, 4/10. Fingers crossed that things dry out between now and then.

We are planning for the first launch of the year on Saturday, 4/9. It looks like there will be rain in the week but not on the weekend. That means the sky may be clear, but the field may be soft. Keep checking this page for updates.

Anyone is welcome to attend. We start setting up at Peckham Farm on the URI campus at 9:00 and we will launch until a little afternoon. We launch any rocket with commercial motors ranging from A to K, so long as the fights stay under 3000 ft. So much for the improving forecast. Due to the rain and the mud, we are scrubbing the launch this weekend. Check back to see if we can find a way to launch sometime over the next two weeks.

The main event will hopefully be Mike’s Level II certification flight with a 5.5″ diameter LOC Nike Zeus. It will be the first K motor flown at Peckham Farm!

The weather still isn’t cooperating. We are going to cancel this weekend’s launch. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to launch again until our regularly scheduled launch on August 14. So now you don’t have an excuse to not finish that rocket on your bench/kitchen table! Let’s see some impressive new builds next month!
